Dear Fleur-de-Lis Golf Members,
Hello! We hope this message finds you well and that you have been able to take advantage of some of the mild Winter weather! We are excited to share another installment of From the Tips with you!
As a reminder, communication along with many others will live on our club App and club Website so that you can access them at your convenience. So that you know that a new message or update has been posted, we will send out a push notification through the club App as well as post a note in the very next weekly golf email. Let’s get started!
March is just around the corner so we wanted to fill you in on what’s in store for March:
- Greens Aerification: March is Greens Aerification Month, three words golfers dislike more than You’re Still Away! This critical process will get our Greens started on the right path for the long hot Summer! Each club will be closed for two days this month to perform this process:
- Persimmon Ridge – Monday and Tuesday, March 4th and 5th
- Polo Fields – Tuesday and Wednesday, March 12th and 13th
- Oxmoor – Monday and Tuesday, March 18th and 19th
- GolfWeek Junior Tour – Persimmon Ridge will be playing to Host the GolfWeek Junior Tour on Saturday and Sunday, March 16th and 17th. The GolfWeek Junior Tour is one of the top Junior Tours in the country and we can expect some of the top Junior Golfers from several other states along with many of our very own Fleur-de-Lis Club members to participate! The course will be closed for this event for most of the weekend as outlined below:
- Friday, March 15th – We will be setting aside a block of tee times (from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.) for the participants coming in from out of town to play a practice round. The course will be open for regular member play otherwise.
- Saturday, March 16th – We will have a limited number of tee times for our Members early Saturday morning teeing off holes #1 and #10 Tee. Pace of Play will be critical for turn times, therefore we will not be allowing members to bring more than one guest during these times. The course will be closed the remainder of the day for the tournament.
- Sunday, March 17th – The second round of the tournament will be played in the morning and we will open the tee sheet back for normal membership play mid afternoon.
- League Meetings, Kickoff Party and Golf Events – There are several meetings, activities and golf events happening in March as all of our Men’s and Ladies Golf Associations and the club in general are ramping things up for the coming season! We told you it would be here before you know it 😜!

- Polo Fields Men’s Golf Association Spring Meeting – Monday, March 11th @ 6:00 p.m. in the Polo Fields Clubhouse. Any men interested in joining the PFMGA or just finding out more about it are welcome to attend! Click HERE for the signup link.
- Polo Fields Ladies Golf Association Spring Dinner and Meeting – Wednesday, March 13th @ 6:00 p.m. in the Polo Fields Clubhouse. Any Ladies interested in joining the PFLGA or just finding out more about it are welcome to attend however RSVP’s are required!! A sign up link will be sent out closer to the event.
- Club Kickoff Party – Wednesday, March 20th @ 6:00 p.m. in the Persimmon Ridge Banquet Room – Persimmon Ridge Men’s League hosts this event which is sponsored by Carpet Specialists. This event is open to all club members and we will have presentations regarding all three clubs/courses. A sign up link will be sent out closer to the event.
- Persimmon Ridge Ladies Golf Association Dinner and Meeting – Thursday, March 21st @ 6:00 p.m. in Elmore’s Grill at Persimmon Ridge. Any Ladies interested in joining the PRLGA or just finding out more about it are welcome to attend however RSVP’s are required!! A sign up link will be sent out closer to the event.
- Our First Golf Events of the year!
- Talk Birdie to me Open at Polo Fields – Saturday, March 2nd – Talk Birdie to Me Open Registration
- Birdies and Brackets Scramble at Persimmon Ridge – Friday, March 22nd – Details and sign up information will be posted in our Weekly Email and the Golf Events Tab on the Club App when registration opens.
- Icebreaker Scramble at Oxmoor – Sunday, March 24th – Details and sign up information will be posted in our Weekly Email and the Golf Events Tab on the Club App. Registration is Now Open!
- March Madness Open Day Scramble at Polo Fields – Saturday, March 30th – Details and sign up information will be posted in our Weekly Email and the Golf Events Tab on the Club App when registration opens.
- League Meetings/Dinners/Kickoff Party
- Time Change – Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 10th at 2:00 a.m. Remember to change your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday, March 9th!!
Other important messages:
- Reminder: All members wishing to participate in ANY of our club events must have their GHIN handicap set up with our club. Even if you have a GHIN Handicap set up elsewhere you will need to have it set up with us as well. If you don’t have your handicap set up through our club and would like to do so, please contact any one of our Golf Professionals or email Hayden at hhope@persimmonridge.com
- In an effort to support our PGA Associates (Greg at Polo Fields and Hayden at Persimmon Ridge) with their PGA education expenses we are establishing an associates fund. To get started we are donating two new Custom Fit Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Drivers for raffle with all proceeds going to this fund. We are selling raffle tickets $25 each or 5 for $100. Winners will be drawn on Thursday, March 14th at 5 p.m. in Elmore’s Grill at Persimmon Ridge. Click HERE to purchase tickets!
